Life is Messy

My journey has never followed the ‘normal’ trajectory… Unmarried, no kids, no mortgage, & travelling the world – I’ve worked hard to cultivate a life that feels authentic. After years of feeling shame about my past, I now understand this is my source of power.

THEN: Displaced from day one. Knowing that I didn’t fit but not having the vocabulary to express why or how. A deeply rooted sense of rejection, simply for being who I am.

NOW: The soft vulnerability of embracing my authentic self, openly giving and receiving love.

THEN: Growing up in the shadow of two mentally ill siblings with emotionally negligent parents felt like I would never make it out alive. Self-harm ignored and a suicide attempt swept under the rug, I was silenced. Giving more and more while slowly dying in an emotional desert.

NOW: Choosing who I call family with a sharp awareness of genuine love and support.

THEN: Groomed, molested, and photographed by the old man at my first job. My first experience of sex – raped by an older boy at school. Rumours abound! Blamed for my second rape for allowing myself to be in a position to be drugged. Years of overwhelming shame and anger.

NOW: Allowing myself grace to feel the pain of the past when it begs attention. Acknowledging that these experiences propel me forward in the manifestation of my own sexual empowerment.

THEN: Pressure to “make something of myself”. Working double time to prove that I was good enough, worthy of love. Taking on each challenge presented without thought of my own personal well-being.

NOW: Personally and professionally valuing my peace above all else. Finding enjoyment in the calm love that comes with authentic connection.

Stories are for sharing

Our ability as women to feel and express our emotions is our super power. While this power may not be appreciated in our current society, it is within us none the less. Sleeping, waiting for us to awaken to our full potential. I believe that the first step towards this global energetic shift, is for us to return to the practice of sharing our stories. A powerhouse of feminine energy – Violet Saije is our safe community.
